Defending Individuals Charged with Crimes
Criminal Defense
We represent individuals who have been charged with crimes. Though we are available to handle plea deals, we are especially proud to represent individuals who wish to plead Not Guilty and exercise their Constitutional right to a trial by jury. As a former prosecutor, Mr. Cisco knows how to aggressively defend your rights at trial. When the State fails to meet its high burden of proof, as it so often does, rest assured that Mr. Cisco will do all he can to demonstrate to the jury that the government has not proven its case.
We are available to defend the rights of those accused of various crimes, including the following:

If you or a loved one have been charged with a crime, please give us a call at (217) 991-0409 and let us protect your rights.

Drug Offenses
Prison time is possible for many seemingly minor drug charges. Those in possession of drugs can even be charged with dealing drugs, even without any witness testifying as to direct knowledge of a transaction. Drug crimes can be brought in federal or state court. Mr. Cisco has experience handling drug offense cases and has the skills and knowledge necessary to defend your rights.
DUI
If someone is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, their life can be turned upside down. The laws regarding DUI are complex, and the penalties are steep. Those charged with DUI may face jail time, loss of driving privileges, exorbitant fines, and extensive probation terms. If you are charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, contact us right away to fight for you.

Unlawful Possession of Firearms
The mere possession of a gun can result in serious criminal charges if technical legal requirements for possession are not met. Otherwise, law-abiding citizens can find themselves in trouble just because they have failed to obtain or update their FOID or Concealed Carry Permit cards. Even with such documentation, otherwise responsible gun owners can be charged with an offense if their use or transport of firearms is done in an unlawful manner. If you have been charged with a firearms offense, Mr. Cisco will vigorously defend your Constitutional rights.
Battery / Assault
Battery and assault charges are very common, and the State often brings them even in incidents involving little or no injury. In fact, battery charges can become felonies if they involve contact with police officers, the elderly, teachers, or children. Mr. Cisco is prepared to vigorously defend those who have been charged with assault or battery. If you have been charged with such crimes, contact us right away to protect your rights.

Resisting Arrest / Resisting a Peace Officer
Resisting charges are often filed against those who are not completely and quickly compliant with a police officer’s attempts to arrest them.
These charges are often brought in addition to charges relating to the actual reason the arrest was made. When he was a prosecutor, Mr. Cisco was troubled by the frequency with which the police and State’s Attorney would file resisting charges. Mr. Cisco feels that resisting charges are too often brought in an attempt to defend against credible allegations of excessive force used by police officers during arrests. If you have been charged with Resisting a Peace Officer, contact us right away. Let Mr. Cisco put his years of legal experience to fight for you to defend your rights.
Traffic Tickets
Most people will get a traffic citation at some point during their lifetime. Traffic violation fines are often steep, but the fine itself can be minor compared to the impact that a traffic conviction might have on your insurance premiums and future driving privileges. Mr. Cisco knows how to successfully handle traffic ticket matters for his clients. If you have been charged with a traffic violation, contact us right away to work for you.
Mr. Cisco will explain your rights and will work to defend you against the charges or secure a fair resolution of the ticket.
If you or a loved one have been charged with a crime or traffic offense, please give us a call at (217) 991-0409 and let us protect your rights.
